What To Expect At Aura

You want to feel healthier and get in better shape but just don’t know where to start, or what to expect? This piece will hopefully answer some of those questions and help you feel more confident about getting started.

The most important thing to remember is everyone was once where you are now. We all start somewhere, whether that be in our teens or 60’s, everyone was once a beginner. At Aura, we understand that getting started can be a daunting experience, and this is exactly why the Fit for life programme was created. We will personally guide you through the experience.

On joining, you will receive a guided tour of your new leisure facility, so you will know exactly where everything is. You will be booked in for your first appointment with one of our fitness team. They will ensure you are doing all the right exercises for your body and your goals, as well as giving you nutritional advice and lifestyle tips. Your instructor will be there for you over the next few weeks to guide and support you. If further down the line you are feeling de-motivated, you can always book back in to see them for some gentle encouragement and updates.

When in the gym, be prepared to see people of all different journeys in fitness, the runners, the lifters, those in rehabilitation and unfortunately, those on their phones too. My advice would be to focus on what is it you need to do, do not worry about what anyone else is doing, and leave the phone at home.

Exercising is one of the best things you can do for your body, your muscles feel alive, your blood gets pumping, and even your mood will improve knowing you are doing something beneficial to your health. Mentally, you will learn new things about yourself, discover movements you did not know you were capable of, and new boundaries you can push to. It can very rewarding.

So, as you embark on your fitness journey, I hope you thoroughly enjoy each workout, each swim and every class you do, learn to love your body for what it can do, and reap the benefits of improving your health for good.
