Covid-19 CLOSURE FAQ’s

Are all Aura Leisure centres currently closed?

Yes. All Aura Leisure Centres are currently closed in accordance with Government advice. We welcome the latest announcement from Government about the planned reopening of Leisure Centres in June. We are awaiting further clarification from Government around what services will be operational and we will be communicating to customers in due course with full details on our reopening plans and memberships. Please follow us on social media for updates.

What about Swim Academy?

The current term of swim lessons will remain paused while restrictions are at Level 3 or above. We will make up the lessons when they are cleared to recommence.

Will you be taking direct debit payments from members?

No direct debit payments will be taken until we have been advised on a re-opening date. The payment taken in January will be credited to members when our centres re-open. Members will receive advance notice once we know when we are resuming direct debit billing.

What about the payment that was taken by Direct Debit in January?

Unfortunately the timing of the closure notice from Government came too late for us to reverse the direct debit payments scheduled for January. This was beyond our control. The payment taken in January will be credited to members when our centres re-open.

What about Annual Memberships?

Annual memberships will be extended to cover Government imposed closure periods.

These FAQ’s only apply when our centres are open in line with Government advice.

Can Covid-19 be spread in a swimming pool?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Furthermore, the HSE advise that current recommended disinfection practice is sufficient to inactivate COVID-19 virus in chlorinated drinking water and swimming pools. Aura swimming pools operate at levels above this recommended practice meaning our chlorinated water is safe.
