Level 5 Closure FAQ’s

Are all Aura Leisure centres closed?

Yes, all Aura Leisure Centres closed Wednesday 21st October 2020 as a result of the nationwide Level 5 restrictions.

When will your centres be re-opening?

Following the Government announcement on 27th November, all Aura Leisure Centres will re-open on Tuesday 1st December.

 

What about my membership when you are closed?

Memberships will be frozen during the closure period, resuming when we re-open. Annual memberships will be extended to cover the closure period.

 

Will you be taking direct debit payments from members?

Yes, direct debit payments will resume in December. The monthly direct debit membership billing in December will be discounted to reflect the days lost due to the Government enforced closure period.

 

What about Annual Memberships?

Annual memberships will be extended to cover Government imposed closure periods.

 

What about Swim Academy?

The current term of swim lessons will remain paused while restrictions are at Level 3 or above. We will make up the lessons when they are cleared to recommence.

 

Do you have any fitness videos I can use at home?

Yes. The Aura Fitness team have recorded great home workout videos which you will find here. They are also available to view on our YouTube channel.

 

Are you running Live Classes on Instagram while your centres are closed?

Yes. Check out our Instagram and Facebook pages for details. From Ab Blasts, and HIIT Cardio to Strength and Body Conditioning, there is a class to suit everyone.

Re-Opening FAQ’s

Will Aura Leisure Centres open when Level 3 restrictions are in place?

Yes, our centres will remain open but some of our activities may be suspended in line with Government advice. For example, typically under Level 3 restrictions, indoor group fitness and aqua fitness classes will stop and all swim lessons will be paused.

Our pools will remain open for members and on a pay-as-you-go basis. Our gym will also remain open. Remember to book your time slot in advance using our online booking system OR call us direct.

 

What services are available at Aura Leisure centres when open?

Most of our services with some restrictions at some facilities. Due to social distancing restrictions, and for the safety of both our staff and customers, restrictions on occupancy will apply to all areas. Following the advice of experts, our health suites and spas will remain closed until further notice.

Some of the internal Aura Leisure Centre facilities, including changing facilities and lockers will be restricted in some centres, due to distancing and capacity restrictions. We are encouraging customers to arrive gym ready to avoid using the changing rooms and lockers where possible.

 

Do I have to book in advance to use the gym or swimming pool?

Yes. You can Book Online or Call your local Aura Leisure centre where our team will be happy to assist.

Note if you are looking to book children’s places in the swimming pool you will need to call the centre direct to arrange.

 

Is Pay As You Go available?

Yes when we are open, Pay As You Go options are available for our swimming pools and gyms. Contact your local Aura Leisure for details of pricing and availability.

 

Can Pay As You Go users book online?

Yes, you can book your time slot and make payment using our Online Booking system.

Note if you are looking to book children’s places in the swimming pool you will need to call the centre direct to arrange.

 

How does the online booking sytem work?

Click here to make a booking and follow these steps:

    A. Enter your login details. If you’re a new user you can also register at this point.

    B. Go to the Bookings section.

    For Gym or Pool: Select Make A Booking. Next, choose your activity category and then your activity and pick your preferred time slot

    For Fitness Classes: Select Class Timetable. Then choose your preferred class and time slot.

    C. Accept T’s & C’s which include your agreement not to attend our facility if you are ill or suffering from any Covid-19 related symptoms or if     you have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid-19 within the last 14 days.

    D. Make payment if you are a Pay-As-You-Go customer

 

Are you taking bookings from new starters for swim lessons?

Yes. Please send us your details and the swim team at your local Aura Leisure will be in touch.

 

Can Covid-19 be spread in a swimming pool?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have stated there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas. Furthermore, the HSE advise that current recommended disinfection practice is sufficient to inactivate COVID-19 virus in chlorinated drinking water and swimming pools. Aura swimming pools operate at levels above this recommended practice meaning our chlorinated water is safe.

 

Are hairdryers availabe for use?

No, hairdryers are not currently available at Aura Leisure Centres.

 

When will fitness classes resume?

Unfortunately indoor fitness classes cannot take place at Level 3 restrictions or above. When the lifting of restrictions takes place fitness classes will resume at most of our facilities. Additional safety measures will be in place including hygiene, social distancing, equipment usage and occupancy restrictions.

Some Aura Leisure Centres will be hosting Live Zoom Classes or outdoor classes. Please contact your local Aura Leisure centre for more details.

What precautions will I need to take when attending the swimming pool or gym?

We will be asking all customers to adhere to new health and safety operational guidelines. Details can be found here. Please ensure you read this carefully. This page will be updated regularly.

 

Do I have to wear a face-covering?

We encourage customers entering our facility to wear a face covering in line with public health guidance. This also applies to the viewing area in our swimming pools. Face coverings can be removed while swimming or exercising.

Following Government advice, children under 12 are exempt from wearing a face covering. Persons with medical considerations as provided by the public health guidance are also exempt from wearing a face covering.
