Aura Leisure was proud to host our yearly environment week across all of our centres last week.
While we try our best each and every day to create a more environmentally friendly company, we take a week each year to encourage our customers to join us in making positive changes to their habits towards saving the environment.
During the week some of our centres asked members to get involved through their initiatives such as our Dundalk centre, who hosted a recycling competition among staff and members, while in Youghal there was a discount on hot drinks if you brought your own cup.
These are just a couple of ways our centres tried to help the environment during the week, however, as mentioned above our commitment to helping the environment never stops.
Aura has an award winning 5-point energy plan, and have been working toward a healthier planet for over 10 years now by reducing consumption and energy usage.
In that time, we have reduced our water consumption by 55%, while we’ve cut down our energy usage by 53%. As well as that we have saved over 26,000 tonnes through our carbon savings, which is the equivalent of planting over 1.2 million trees and dropped our fuel usage by 39%.
These are just some of the ways we continue to support our ecosystem, while we also actively try to reduce the amount of paper used in every centre daily.
