Aura Holohan Group recently held two of its three annual masterclasses for staff members across the country.
First up was our Fitness Masterclass, which was hosted by DKIT Sport, and included members from all our facilities across Aura Leisure, Anytime Fitness, DKIT Sport, and our support office.
The day started with some icebreaker activities before DKIT Staff put on one of their famous H40 sessions for staff to try out.
Following this the manager of Anytime Fitness Ballincollig, Cathal Fitzpatrick, put some staff through their paces in a fun-filled spin class.
The two fitness activities were used to inspire staff members from all our centres, showing them new ways to motivate members and different methods of hosting classes.
Once the fitness classes were completed for the day, two talks took place, the first of which was nutrition-based with speaker Dr Conor Kearly, the main mind behind Phytaphix, who also gave away samples of his products on the day.
The second talk came from Louth GAA backroom staff, assistant men’s team manager Gavin Devlin, and Strength and Conditioning Coach Ciaran Sloan, who spoke about creating a winning mentality within a team setting.
A week on and our staff attended our Customer Service Masterclass in Trim GAA Club, in order to help them improve their customer skills.
Once again, there were icebreaker tasks and team-building exercises, allowing staff to interact with and get to know other members of the Aura Group team from all over Ireland.
After this, guest speaker Mark Thornton gave a presentation on the importance of customer service and how staff can develop their skills in ways they may not have thought of before.
Prizes were also given out to staff members that asked the best questions during the talk.
The third of Aura’s staff events will take place in August and is based around swimming, which we’ll be sure to update you on when it happens.
These days are used to help staff not only enhance skills in their current position, but to bring members of the Aura team together under one roof. It is a chance for ideas to be bounced around and staff to bond which is vital for our company.
We look forward to these events each year and can’t wait for the next one. It’s incredible seeing the community spirit from the entire team even though they are based all around the country.
