The Aura Holohan Group is Ireland’s largest leisure provider operating 15 centres nationwide. The National Irish Safety Organisation announced during their awards ceremony that Aura Leisure has won 2 awards at the National Irish Safety Awards, winning the Distinction Award and the Continuous High Achiever Award. The awards ceremony originally scheduled for last October was held virtually by the NISO president Harry Galvin on Friday 22 January 2021.
The Group which operates in sport & leisure facility management, architecture, consultancy and event management includes 10 Aura Leisure Centres nationwide, 4 Anytime Fitness Clubs in Dublin, 1 DKIT Sport in Dundalk and the Support Office and Holohan Leisure Consultants in Dublin. The group has won numerous national awards for Disability Inclusion, Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
Gerard Morgan who is the Group’s Health and Safety Manager and based in the Aura Leisure Centre Navan, has been the driving force who has led Aura to achieving this accolade. Gerard coordinates the safety culture across the organisation, supported by a team of Operations Managers and Safety Committee across all of the Aura facilities. This is the seventh year in a row the group has won the Distinction Award and a third year in a row winning the Continuous High Achiever Award. Gerard stated, “Safety, Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, we have an open and positive safety culture based on mutual trust and employee engagement across the organisation.”
