Ireland’s National Fitness Day 2024 took place on Monday September 23rd, with a number of Aura Leisure centres getting involved.
The day, which is run through Ireland Active, is meant to promote fitness among the public and encourage people to learn more on how to look after their health going forward.
This year’s theme was accessibility for all – sustainability focused, which our centres embraced with open arms.
In Aura Dundalk, they decided to run events for the week instead of just the day, with a range of activities taking place such as free fitness classes, cycling competitions, kids’ classes, and much more.
Meanwhile, our centres in Drogheda, Grove Island, Leitrim, and Letterkenny all ran a variety of inclusive, fun fitness classes to give people a chance to test them out.
Aura Navan and Aura Trim gave customers the opportunity to taste test some of the Aura Fitness Nutrition Range while explaining how the products can hold benefits for some.
While Aura Youghal made their centre ASD friendly for the day meaning they limited the lighting and got rid of all music in the centre in order to reduce sensory stimulation which allowed more people to work out.
Our centres also had plenty of free fruit and water for members to avail of to ensure they had a perfect workout on the day.
We would like to thank all our incredible staff for making these events possible on the day and we hope our customers enjoyed the day as much as we did.
Although National Fitness Day is important every year for us, we are consistently looking to make our centres as inclusive and sustainable as possible while ensuring our members get the best fitness experience they can as we strive towards a healthier, happier Ireland.
