Boyne Swim in association with Aura Leisure took place in Drogheda on Saturday July 20th, 2024.
The event, which had a brief hiatus last year due to adverse weather conditions returned with a bang this time around.
A total of 154 swimmers took part in the 2.7km swim through the River Boyne, with plenty of Aura Leisure representatives involved too.
In terms of winners, it was Cliodhna Delaney who took home the top prize in the overall Senior Female category with a time of 36 minutes 56 seconds, while it was Ben Moran who achieved the feat in the overall Senior Male category with a time of 31 minutes 55 seconds.
Meanwhile in the Minor Male category Eoin Lumsden topped the timings with a time of 36 minutes 56 seconds, with Maria Carton taking top place in the Minor Female category, finishing in 42 minutes and 1 second.
We would like to give a special shoutout too to our very own Swim Co-ordinator from Aura Drogheda, Gillian Farrelly, who claimed second-place in the Senior Female Wetsuit category and third overall in the Senior Female category.
Along with Gillian, Aura Drogheda’s James, Amy, Dylan, and Conor also completed the swim, which we’d like to send our congratulations to them too.
We are so proud to see our Aura team competing with the best at this fantastic event.
The Boyne Swim takes place every year starting at Mell Drogheda and finishing up at The Boyne Fishermen Boathouse on the Marsh Road, with the event growing in popularity each year with Aura seeing it as a day that exemplifies celebrating a healthier, happier Ireland.
We would like to congratulate everyone that took part and organised such a fantastic day, as we look forward to seeing you again in 2025.
