Aura Holds Annual Drowning Prevention Week for 2024
Aura Leisure held its annual Drowning Prevention Week from June 17th to June 23rd, 2024.
Each year Aura Leisure runs the week in order to highlight the importance of staying safe around water as many people head on summer holidays and want to enjoy pools, the sea, lakes, etc.
While having fun should always be a top priority for anyone while in or around water, the number one consideration should be to remain safe, especially when young children are involved.
Throughout the week several of our Aura centres hosted events to bring awareness to water safety, while the Aura Training Academy team ensured members of staff remained up to date with water safety rules and regulations.
Across social media we published posts promoting ways of staying safe around the water all year round, including learning the Water Safety Code, understanding beach flags, and being aware of procedures in any area you wish to swim by communicating with the lifeguard.
At Aura we want everyone to experience the joy of water safely which we help with by offering a range of swim lessons for people of all ages as well as abilities including our Junior Swim Academy for babies and tots, our Swim Academy for children, our Adult Swim Lessons for adults, plus many more water activities.
A Number of Water Safety Posts that Featured on Aura’s Social Media Channels Throughout the Week!
We also offer a number of courses through the Aura Training Academy in order for people to learn all they need to know to deal with emergency situations, with courses such as Lifeguard, Swim Teacher, and First Aid Responder among the many available.
It is important to always remain up to date on water safety, as each year too many lives are lost in waters around the world, by educating children at a young age about water safety you set them up to enjoy water while preventing accidents in the future, you can check out some of our top water safety tips in our latest blog which you can find here, and we at Aura will continue practicing the highest water safety standards as we strive to create a healthier, happier Ireland.
