The Aura Group hosted its annual Fitness Masterclass at DKIT Sport on Thursday July 9th.

All the Team in Attendance at Our 2026 Fitness Masterclass

The masterclass is an opportunity for staff to interact with one another and share ideas in order to provide our customers with the best fitness practice possible in an ever-changing industry.

To start the day there was a couple of ice-breaker games, which were needed to get people warmed-up for the taster classes that were to come.

Following the icebreakers the staff were led through a functional fitness session by Anytime Fitness Ballincollig manager Aaron O’Donoghue, who pushed everyone to their limits while showing them all the possibilities available when running a class.

Staff were also put through their paces in a spin class workshop by Darren Teagles, who introduced them to a new system in Ciclo, which brings together the essentials of indoor spinning and high-end technology.

There was a short break to refuel before former Irish Olympic runner, Shane Healy, gave a talk on the importance of fitness in people’s lives and how it brought out the best in him in his life to achieve incredible goals.

All in attendance also took home a few goodies and samples, including some from Avonmore, Optimum Nutrition, Kinetica, Expert Leisure, Nuvion Nutrition as well as Ciclo.

With our Fitness Masterclass in the bag, attention will shortly move to our Swim Masterclass in August which will see teams from all our Aura centres compete to become this year’s champion.

Each of our masterclasses are organised to bring our teams together, allowing them to share their knowledge and enhance what they bring to our members on a daily basis.

We’d like to thank everyone that was in attendance for a fantastic day and hope you took something away from it.

It was another massively successful masterclass and we look forward to seeing how you apply what you learned in your local centres as we continue to build a healthier, happier Ireland.
