Are You Brave Enough to Battle the Boyne?
The Aura Boyne Swim returns to Drogheda again this year on Saturday the 15th of June, proudly hosted by Drogheda Triathlon Club with the continued and greatly appreciated support of Drogheda Port Company and Louth County Council. The number of swimmers taking part each year has grown steadily and the Boyne Swim is now a highly anticipated annual event for both open water swimmers and triathletes alike, competing for the beautiful perpetual trophies for overall Male, Female and Junior swimmer.
Open Water Swim
Open water swimming can be a really fun and sociable activity where many people find immersing themselves in nature a rejuvenating and energising experience both physically and mentally. Make this the year you tackle an open water swim and experience this majestic 2.7km route along the historic River Boyne in Drogheda. Rising in the Bog of Allen, County Kildare, the historic River Boyne flows 113km northeast to enter the Irish Sea just below Drogheda at Mornington County Meath.
The hugely experienced swim coaching teams at Aura Leisure who sponsor the event have put a training programme together for the swim that will be free to all participants and is available to pick up in all of the Aura Leisure centres.
“A Healthier and Happier Ireland”
